Click It Up A Notch-January

Click It Up A Notch
I am linking up with Click It Up A Notch to submit my favorite photograph of the month.  This photograph is of one of my favorite flowers in Phoenix, the Lantana.  Lantana comes in white, purple and orange but this combination of pink/orange/yellow/white/purple is my favorite variety!  It is hard to find this one around town but when I do, I love to sit and admire it's beauty.  Must get some planted in my own yard!  This beautiful bush is found right outside my hubby's office.

Week 5

ISO 1600   f/9.0   1/200
The vivid pinks of the snapdragon plants in my backyard are about the only beautiful thing left to see in my backyard.  Between the broken irrigation system, broken pool and weeds popping up daily, gazing upon these flowers is a nice reprieve for the eye when viewing the rest of the yard!  I also want to add that this is my FIRST manual mode photo!  I have been reading and following this great blog, Click It Up A Notch, and it has given me some fantastic tutorials and encouragement to start shooting in manual.  It is intimidating and I am not good at it whatsoever but practice makes perfect!

Week 4

This weekend I was able to travel back to my home state of Colorado and spend a ski weekend with my family in Breckenridge, Colorado.  I shot this photo from the car on the way back to Colorado Springs from Breckenridge.  Colorado is such a beautiful state and I love being home and experiencing the beauty of the mountains in winter.

Week 3

Walking out of work every morning I have started to notice these majestic agave plants shooting their stalks high into the air.  They are really quite beautiful!  I decided to take a different angle and perspectve and think it turned out pretty neat.  From what I can find through the internet this is an Agave Century Plant.

Week 2

What is the perk of living in Phoenix in January?  Enjoying a nice cold glass of beer on the patio in early afternoon! Rob and I went out for a quick drink together this past weekend and I had to grab this picture of his beer...it was beautiful!  Not in the sense of being alcohol but truly the color was this beautiful golden yellow and you could see every little bubble brewing inside.

Week 1

My first photo of the year! Who doesn't love a photo of an adorable and tired out pup? We love Sonora for her playfulness and energy but she is just as cute and enjoyable when she is tired out! A morning at a beach dog park in San Diego and walks around the town would do that to ya.
